Germany

Brigitte Voigt was born in Hannover, Germany, and immigrated to the US, with her parents, in 1956. She was raised in Northeastern PA. She was working as a hairdresser when she answered the call of God to the ministry, in 1978.

Brigitte attended Bible school in Tulsa, Oklahoma and after graduation, in 1983, became youth pastor in a growing church in Hazleton, PA. The congregation continued to grow as did Brigitte’s desire to be on the foreign mission field. She resigned her position as youth pastor and became associate pastor in charge of missions. This was the beginning of many mission trips, the most memorable being to Siberia and Nigeria, each of which she visited four times. These were wonderful times and on every trip believed she could have stayed in that country, but it was not time.

In 1999, Brigitte was invited to join another missionary couple on a trip to Germany to visit new works and old friends. In Berlin, she met with Pastor Gary Cooper and his wife Gail and they prayed about her joining with them in the work that they were doing there, including Bible schools, Feed the Hungry for Eastern Europe, and the multicultural church that was growing to include 24 nations.

In 2000, Brigitte became a part of a missionary organization called Living Word Missions Inc. This group currently ministers in 37 nations, representing Bible Training Centers, evangelism, church planting, children’s and youth ministry, orphanages, and economic development programs. This year over 10,000 will be trained in Bible training centers around the world.

Brigitte’s heart is to disciple and mentor young Christians, minister to women of the ex-Communist nations, bringing Truth into lives where lies have been the norm.

Brigitte lives and works in the ministry in Germany.
